The theme this year is “Maker Fun Factory: Created by God, Built for a Purpose.” VBS is for children 4 years old through 5th grade. We will be having another free Community Dinner on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at 6:00 pm in our Fellowship Hall. Invite your family and friends to join us. If you would like to help with setting up for the dinner, come at 5:00 pm. Anne Schukar will be preparing another delicious meal.
The theme for this year’s Vacation Bible School is “Everest: Conquering Challenges with God’s Mighty Power.” It will start on Sunday night July 12th and end on Thursday night July 16th. Each evening we will meet from 5:30 pm to 8:15 pm. A light supper will be served. Thursday night is family night when parents and siblings are invited to attend with their child(ren). Children will be learning five Bible points during the week which will be taught through Bible stories, Games, Puppetry, Music, and sciencey gizmos. The Bible points are: God has the power to provide, God has the power to comfort, God has the power to heal, God has the power to forgive, and God has the power to love us forever. Parents can preregister their children by calling the church office at 425-486-7487. Come early on the first evening to complete the registration form.
We will be presenting a Good Friday Drama on April 3, 2015 at 7:30 pm. The drama is called “Twelve” and recounts the thoughts and emotions of the twelve disciples between Christ’s death and resurrection. The Lord’s Supper will be served at the service. Invite your family and friends to attend with you. Refreshments will be served after the service.
Our women’s group will be getting together on Saturday, January 17, 2015 from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm for a light brunch and to make blankets for the Care Net Pregnancy Center in Kenmore. The suggested donation per person is $5 to help with the cost supplies. Invite your friends to join with you for this event. Contact Karen Meissner if you have additional questions.
On Wednesday, December 24, 2014 we will have our Christmas Eve Service at 6 pm. Join us as we sing carols, enjoy some special music, listen to an encouraging message from Pastor Mark, sing the 12 Days of Christmas with audience participation, and end the service by candlelight.
On Sunday, December 14, 2014 at 6:15 pm we will be having our Christmas Program. This year it is called “Sing A Song of Christmas.” The adult choir and children’s choirs will be singing, the muppets will be performing, and there will be a few other special musical numbers. Come and join us and invite your friends as we celebrate the reason for the season, the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Refreshments will be served after the program.
We will be joining with some of our sister churches for a Thanksgiving Eve Service at Haller Lake Baptist Church on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 7 pm. The address of the church is 14054 Wallingford Ave N. Seattle, WA 98133. We will be taking a special offering for the Union Gospel Mission that night. Join us on Saturday, November 15, 2014 from 9 am to 12 pm for our fall Church Work Day. We will be cleaning up the church grounds and doing some maintenance projects inside the church as well. You can bring some rakes, gloves, buckets, ladders, pruners, tarps, wheel barrows, and other basic yard tools if you have them. Jim Meissner will be coordinating the work day.
Our Men’s Camp will take place on October 10-11, 2014 at Camp Gilead. The camp begins on Friday night and ends on Saturday evening after dinner. Rick Peterson will be our speaker this year and will be talking with us about “Biblical Manhood.” The cost is $60 per person. All men are invited to come. In addition to the teaching we will enjoy some great food, some outdoor activities, and a ping pong tournament. For more information contact the church office or speak with Pastor Mark.
