“Kenmore Happenings” January 19 – 26, 2020

 

  1. Praise God that He is sovereign and in control of all things. Praise Him for His infinite wisdom. Praise Him for His perfect love. Praise Him for His unlimited power. Praise Him as “I Am” (the God who exists eternally, independently, and unchanging). Praise Him for His holiness, compassion, grace, mercy, justice, forgiveness, faithfulness, patience, and personal concern for each one of us. Praise Him for His promises. Praise Him as the creator of the universe and our creator.

 

  1. Karen D. is Praising God for her trip to Missouri. God helped her with safe road conditions and travel. It was a blessing to her and others.

 

  1. Les, Nancy & Laura F. They are thankful for the Lords faithfulness to meet their needs, draw them close and show them His light and love – daily.

 

  1. Pray that we would love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. Pray that we would love our neighbors as ourselves. Pray that we would hunger and thirst for righteousness. Pray that we would spend time daily reading God’s Word and in prayer. Pray that we would leave the fingerprints of the kingdom of God upon the people we interact with each day. Pray that we would become more and more like Jesus. Pray that we would be filled with the Spirit and become more like Jesus every day in our thoughts, attitudes, and actions.

 

  1. Carol L. is asking for prayer on the evaluation on her fingernail that is splitting. She may need surgery.

 

  1. Trudi R. would like prayer for healing and strength. She has been struggling since she was hospitalized. It takes everything she has to get through her working day. She has been freezing cold and physically exhausted.

 

  1. Patrick and Ashlie C. would like us to pray for Ashlie to find a graphic/digital/ux design Job. Pray for my cousin Janet, she has depression and suicidal thoughts. She always felt lonely when she was a kid. Pray for peaceful resolution to the protests in Hong Kong. Pray also for the Uyghur people in China who are facing persecution. 1 Million of them have been place in re-education camps. Pray for Pastor Wany Yi who was sentenced to 9 years in prison in China on trumped up charges.

 

  1. Barb F. would like prayer for complete recovery for her daughter Kathy who is recovering from shoulder surgery. She is a middle school Librarian and will be off work for 6 weeks.

 

  1. Trudy Rockwell Is asking for prayer for her dad that he is OK. He fell and hurt his back. Also please pray for her daughter and grandson that they are OK.

 

  1. Kim S. Would like prayer for her Dr. appts. Monday – Vascular, Wed. – Osteo. Next week – Tues. – Blood draw,

Thur. – Oncology.

 

  1. Pray for Dusty Reimersma as he leads our youth ministry. Pray for the spiritual growth of the youth group and that more students could be reached.

 

  1. Pray for all our missionaries: the Wilkinson’s in the Philippines, the Tillman’s in the Philippines, the Beck’s in Austria, the Green’s in South America (Currently operating from Texas), Ian Smith in Japan, The Millar’s (they have wrapped up their ministry in Toronto and are now visiting churches and supporters), and Joshua Vijayakumar in India.
  2. Pray for the local and national ministries we support: Converge Northwest (Steve and Susie Welling who is retiring   in March 2020 and Nate Hettinga who has accepted the position beginning Jan. 2020), Converge (Scott and Lisa Ridout), Care Net Pregnancy Center in Kenmore, Lake Retreat & Adelphia Discipleship School, Camp Big Horn, the Union Gospel Mission, and the Gideons.

 

  1. Pray for the services Pastor Mark and Dusty R. lead at Kenmore Senior Living on Mondays. Pray for the spiritual growth of these seniors and for the salvation of those who have not yet put their faith in Jesus.

 

  1. Pray that we would see a minimum of 10 new believers and baptisms at KCC this year.

 

  1. Pray for David S., Mary Beth Rogers’ brother. He has his first foot surgery on Jan. 29th. If the surgeries are not successful, he is facing the amputation of his foot. Pray for God’s healing.

 

  1. Pray for the Griefshare Support Group on Mondays from 6pm to 8pm. Pray many people will come and be helped by the information they receive.

 

  1. Pray for Irma C. who is unable to see clearly. She has a doctor’s appt. this week.

 

  1. Pray for Chuck R. and Bob C. who are both experiencing weakness in their legs. Pray for God’s strength and healing.

Our Small Group Bible Studies are:

Seekers Bible Study on Sunday mornings at 9:10 am in the Fellowship Hall.

Thursday Night Bible Study at 7 pm in the Fellowship Hall.

 

Prayer Meetings

Tuesdays at 7 pm, Thursdays 11:45 am to 12:45 am

 

Youth Group takes place on Wednesday nights from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm and is for students in 6th thru 12th grade. Sign up to provide a meal for the youth group on the table in back.

 

We are currently participating with our sister Converge Churches in 21 Days of Prayer (& Fasting) from January 5 thru 26. Prayer booklets for your use during the 21 days are available on the shelf in back of the church.

 

Next Sunday is Sanctity of Human Life Sunday and we will have a special presentation from CareNet and be participating in their “Baby Bottle Campaign” to raise money for their ministry. Be sure and take a bottle home with you and fill it with your spare change, cash, or a check and return it to the church.

 

The Hopelink Mobile Foodbank will be at KCC next on Thursday, January 23, 2020 from 1 pm to 3 pm in the back parking lot. Registrations forms are available in the church office.

 

Our next free Community Dinner will take place on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 from 6 pm to 7 pm. Chef Annemarie will be preparing another delicious meal.

 

Sunday, January 26, 2020 at 12 pm is the date and time of our Annual Church Business Mtg. and Luncheon. All members and regular attendees are encouraged to be present.

Thursday Night Bible Study at 7 pm in the Fellowship Hall.

 

The Prayer Meeting is on Thursdays from 11:45 am to 12:45 pm in the church library. Anyone interested in participating is welcome.

 

Beginning January 8, 2020, the youth group will be meeting on Wednesday nights from 6:30 pm to 8 pm. Dusty Reimersma has stepped up and been approved by the elders to serve as our new youth minister.

 

We will once again be participating with our sister Converge Churches in 21 Days of Prayer (& Fasting) from January 5 thru 26. Prayer booklets for your use during the 21 days will are available this morning. We will also be adding an additional prayer meeting on Tuesday nights at 7 pm during the 21 Days of Prayer. The goal of this time in prayer is to pray for spiritual breakthroughs in our lives, our church, our nation, and our world.

If your wondering what to do with all your Christmas leftovers wonder no more. Bring a yummy dish to share on December 29, during our coffee hour.

 

A few of us will be Christmas Caroling at the homes of some of our shut-ins tonight, December 22, 2019. If you would like to join in the fun, meet at the church at 5 pm to carpool.

 

Our Candlelight Christmas Eve service will take place at 6 pm this year. We will be singing lots of Christmas Carols, there will be some special music numbers, Pastor Mark will share a message, and we will reprise “The Twelve Days of Christmas” with audience participation. Please invite your family and friends to worship with you that night.
